An eye-catching bespoke joinery, customized to perfection, becomes a defining element of this bespoke living room design. As part of a residential fit-out and carpentry project, the design was developed across the living and dining areas, hallway and main entrance, creating a cohesive language throughout the spaces.
The connection between the kitchen and living area presented an opportunity to create more than a simple division between spaces. We wanted to introduce a functional and aesthetic solution that would provide greater privacy for whoever was working in the kitchen, while allowing the living and dining areas to remain open and welcoming when the client was entertaining guests.
The bespoke joinery was therefore designed as a considered transition between the spaces. Its proportions, clean lines and stylish silhouette create visual separation without making the rooms feel closed off. The kitchen retains its connection to the rest of the home, while the intervention creates a more discreet backdrop when the space is being used.
The design language continues through the living and dining areas, hallway and main entrance, creating a sense of continuity as one moves through the home. Carefully considered carpentry, purposeful storage, refined detailing and a classy colour palette allow the individual spaces to feel connected without becoming repetitive.
Rather than treating the joinery as an added feature, each element was designed as part of the architecture of the interior. The result is a bespoke living room design shaped around the way the home is lived in, combining craftsmanship, functionality and aesthetics to improve privacy, define the relationship between spaces and create a cohesive sense of arrival throughout the home. Every detail was considered with purpose.
